Chattertree
is dedicated to maintaining and protecting your family’s privacy. By
using our service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This
Policy explains what information we collect and how we use the information so we can continue to provide outstanding service to you.
What does this Privacy Policy Cover?
This Privacy Policy covers Chattertree treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that Chattertree
gathers when you are accessing Chattertree’ web site and when you use
Chattertree products or services. The types of Personal Information
collected include your full name, gender, birth date, address, e-mail
address, telephone number, and credit card information. Also, this
Policy covers Chattertree treatment of any Personal Information that
Chattertree’ business partners share with Chattertree. This policy does
not apply to the practices of companies that Chattertree does not own
or control, or to individuals that Chattertree does not employ or manage.
What information does Chattertree collect?
The
information we gather from customers enables us to personalize and
improve our products and services. We collect the following types of
information from our customers.
When
you sign up with Chattertree, you establish a password-protected
personal account for uploading, storing, organizing and sharing any
content The types of Personal Information collected include your full
name, gender, birth date, address, e-mail address,and password.
The
password will allow you access to your account; as such, it needs to be
as secure as possible. A good password includes seemingly random
letters and numbers, and isn’t obvious (such as names of a spouse,
child, or pet).
We
may occasionally request information from users through surveys or
contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely
voluntary. The information requested may include Personal Information,
demographic information or attitudinal information. Rest assured, the
information collected is only used for purposes of improving user
satisfaction with the Chattertree service.
Any
contact with our Customer Service team or communication from you, such
as emails, may be recorded to help us provide better service.
Chattertree
keeps the Personal Information you provide on servers that are
protected against intrusion or unauthorized access by firewalls and
other technological means. They are located in a physically secure
facility, and only Chattertree employees and agents are given access to
the information on a need-to-know basis.
If
you visit a Chattertree web site, your visit may be logged and reported
back to the site owner for traffic reporting purposes.

What does Chattertree do with the information they collect?
Any
personally identifiable information you share with Chattertree when
registering is maintained and accessible only by Chattertree unless
specifically stated otherwise. The following are examples of how Chattertree may use the information it collects:
Chattertree
uses the aggregate data to perform statistical analyses of the
collective characteristics and behavior of our registered users and
visitors, to measure user demographics and interests regarding specific
areas of Chattertree and to analyze how and where best to use our
resources. Without such data, we would not know which parts of
Chattertree are the most popular, and we would not be able to change
and update the content and services appropriately.
Chattertree,
from time to time, may use your information to contact you about
changes or enhancements to Products and Services on Chattertree.
Chattertree
may be required by law to disclose Personal Information to proper law
enforcement authorities, or to other individuals or entities in

you might have requested that we don’t share your information. This

your Personal Information only with your consent or to business
partners and affiliates as described below:
Agents:
We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf
and need to share your information with them to provide products or
services to you. Unless we tell you differently, Chattertree’ agents do
not have any right to use Personal Information we share with them
beyond what is necessary to assist us. You hereby consent to our
sharing of Personal Information for the above purposes.
Business Transfers:
In some cases, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of
transactions, customer information is typically one of the business
assets that is transferred. Moreover, if Chattertree, or substantially
all of its assets were acquired, customer information would be one of
the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You
acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of
Chattertree may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth

Protection of Chattertree and Others:
We may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that

of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety
of Chattertree, our employees, our customers, or others. This includes

protection and credit risk reduction.
How does Chattertree improve our site experience with technology such as Cookies?
Cookies

drive. Cookies enable you to use our site and services. Chattertree
never saves information, such as your password or your credit card
number, on cookies. You may modify your browser
preference to provide you with choices relating to cookies. If you
choose to reject all cookies, you may not be able to access the
Chattertree service.
We
may also use other technologies such as clear gifs, pixel tags, and
scanning navigational data to collect anonymous information about our
users in order to help us deliver better service and user experience.
Anonymous information could include the web site you were on before
coming to Chattertree, IP addresses, or areas of site being clicked on
most frequently.
How can you access, edit or delete your information?
Chattertree
provides its registered users the ability to access and edit the
personal information in their user profiles. You can access your user
profile by following these steps:
- Once
you have successfully logged in, you will be taken to your home page,
which contains a link to your “settings”. Click on that link to view
and update your profile. If you see a field that needs to be updated,
change the appropriate information.
- Make the necessary changes and click the “Settings” button to save your changes.
What kinds of security procedures are in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your information?
Chattertree
has security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss,
misuse and alteration of your user data under our control. Only authorized
employees have access to the information you provide us. Chattertree
has implemented strict rules on employees who have access either to the
databases that store user information or to the servers that host our
services. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to
data will not occur, we take many precautions to prevent such
unfortunate occurrences. Any other particularly sensitive information,
such as your credit card number is encrypted prior to transmission.
You
are ultimately responsible for the security of your Chattertree ID and
password. Please take care when using and storing them. Chattertree
recommends that you do not divulge your password to anyone. You should
log out of your browser at the end of each computer session to ensure
that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence,
especially if you share a computer with someone else or are using a
computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe.
How will Chattertree keep you informed?
As
a Chattertree member, we will notify you via email about new features,
services, promotions. We may also send you information on carefully
screened third parties whose products or services may be of interest to
you. You may unsubscribe to these
notification services through your account profile on the Chattertree
website. Simply go to “My Account” from the My Chattertree page or
contact our Customer Service team.
From
time to time, we may send you service announcement updates with
important information about Chattertree. Service announcements may
contain information vital to your account, so members may not
unsubscribe from service announcements.
All Products and Services on Chattertree are made available subject to this Privacy Policy. By using the Products and Services, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
Effective date of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is effective as of March 1, 2010.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Chattertree may amend
this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect
now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such
information is collected. If we make changes in the way we use Personal
Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our web
site.
