What information does Chattertree collect?
The information we gather from customers enables us to personalize and improve our products and services. We collect the following types of information from our customers.
Registration for Children
Chattertree allows children under the age of 13 to have their own parentally approved account. Children under 13 years of age can become an authorized Chattertree member by either signing up for their own account where the parent will then be sent through a Paypal payment portal to authorize the non-refundable payment of $1.00 with their credit card. The Child will then be authorized to have a personal account with their own email login and password. The parent will receive an email stating that an account has been set up along with the information was inputted from the user into Chattertree’s database. The Child will also receive a confirmation email stating that their account is now active. All users must have their own email address to sign up to Chattertree. Parental accounts will have read only access over their authorized children accounts. The Child will also be able to see who has viewing permissions over their account. Chattertree does not sell or solicit personalized user data.
A child's participation in or access to an activity is not conditional upon him/her providing more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for that activity. If your children are under age 13, we must have ”verifiable parental consent” before we allow a child on Chattertree. We require that all children be added to their families’ account by the parent/guardian and we obtain verifiable parental consent prior to allowing access to the site by children under the age of 13.
Note for Parents of children under the age of 13:
Your children are not allowed to create an account on Chattertree. However, once we obtain verifiable parental consent, children under 13 may participate fully on the site. At anytime you may review any Personal Information we have collected from or about your child by logging into the parental user’s account, clicking on contacts; under contacts they will see the “my kids” tab. Click on that and you will be able to view a read only version of your child’s site. If you desire, you may request that we delete this information and/or specify that we not collect any further Personal Information from your child by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that we will need to verify the identity of anyone requesting information about a child to ensure that the person is in fact the child's Parent, and that a request for us to delete all Personal Information about a child requires us to cancel the child's account.
Parents are able to consent to the site’s use of the child’s Personal Information without having also to consent to the site’s disclosure of the child’s Personal Information to third parties by contacting us at email@example.com.
We receive verifiable parental consent by having the legal guardian submit a non-refundable $1.00 payment through Paypal. Once verifiable consent is received your child will have full access and use of the site without restriction.
Registration for Adults
When adults sign up with Chattertree, you establish a password-protected personal account for uploading, storing, organizing and sharing any content including private rooms, chat, photos, video, events, alerts, personal gift registries, documents and contacts. The types of Personal Information collected include your full name, gender, birth date, address, e-mail address and password.
The password will allow you access to your account; as such, it needs to be as secure as possible. A good password includes seemingly random letters and numbers, and isn’t obvious (such as names of a spouse, child, or pet).

Chattertree alerts are a useful way to inform your family and close friends of good or bad news.
